Gilles Pujol and his world record breaking team 'Les Triplettees de Bonneville' from France futuristic looking Zundapp (photo link below) will have its first test run at this event in the UK. The team have worked on the bike for the last eight months designing and building the bike using the latest technology and traditional model building and aerodynamic testing. This motorbike body is based on a 1960s German built Zundapp conventional motorbike which establish many world records. Les Triplettees de Bonneville will also attempt to set a world record for this type of bike at the Straightliners Events meeting at the historic natural speed at Pendine Sands, Wales. In addition they will also bring other unusual electric and conventional motorbikes to the UK for testing and record breaking. They will also be running electric and conventional revivals of equally unusual bikes. Gilles Pujol, 'Les Triplettees de Bonneville' and their amazing bikes have previously broken world records at Bonneville Flats, Utah, USA.
Also at Pendine Guernsey business man Zeff Eisenberg will be riding a ZX14 Kawasaki "sand racer". He set a British speed record last year at Pendine for the fastest aspirated bike 1650cc class - 164,6mph over a mile. Zeff, a 43 year old father of two, and the 'MADMAX Race TEAM' have produced a range of other unique vehicles and bikes, The team is funded based of Zeff's previous business success.
Straighteners will run two courses this year. A long course for the record contenders and a short course for the rider who just want to come for the experience, in fact it will be just like Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah,USA without the very high cost of getting there
