Becci Ellis previewing Straightliners land speed and drag racing 'Open Weekend' at Elvington, Yorkshire, England 

We were asked to cause a bit of a buzz in advance of the Straightliners land speed and drag racing 'Open Weekend' at Elvington, Yorkshire, England in a few days (12th &13th February. We invited the media to meet some riders and their machines which include interesting bikes and drag cars and the roadworthy coin-operated childs amusement ride 'Postman Pat Van'. The media were particularly interested in Graham Sykes and his steam powered '"rocket" motorcycle 'Force of Nature'. Also getting attention was fastest woman in the world on two wheels Becci Ellis and her new bike named 'ODYSSEY'. It got into lots of media coverage on news websites such as AOL. The vehicles mentioned above and many more will be on show at the Straightliners open weekend which is about all the events that we run including top speed, Guinness World Speed Records, wheelie, drag racing, sprint and drag & drift. There will be top speed, wheelie and drag racing vehicles on display under cover along with engineering displays and top speed seminars. You can get to meet world record holders for many different types of vehicles. The event will have guided tours of the world famous 'Runway 26' at Elvington where most of the speed records are broken.
There will also be catering, merchandise and motorsport product related stands. This all takes place on Saturday and Sunday the 12th and 13th of February. Admission fee is £5 per person and kids go free and parking is free also and it takes place at Elvington Airfield, Halifax Way, Elvington, Yorkshire, YO4 14AU, England
